It took me forever to write anew; what gives? Me still single no scratch that I am seeing just one. The nurse entertains me no end, albeit distance and his erratic schedule. Erpat had been discharged from the hospital after a bout with mild stroke. Me wishes he get back in shape very soon. I can’t write. Ho-hum, so my Oscars bets ran off with the rightly deserved trophies. Provisions in the right-of-reply bill is downright offensive to the press. It’s in-your-face curtailment of the supposed freest press in the region. My thoughts are running stupid, I can’t compose a decent entry. I am severely excited about summer and the up and coming months. Find me in Facebook. Tambay ako dun.

Inspired by one of my favorite INQUIRER columnists Michael Tan, en route my looking back post, I am writing my own list of things/places/persons/anything that rocked and made me smile this year (or grin).In  no particular ranking:

1. My literally big family. All five of us are plus size or near-plus, except Paolo At week’s end, they would give the needed energy to recharge and keep me going. There’s Paolo, our 3-year-old sprightly sib, who never ceases to  entertain me with his antics and innocent telling.  Mikko, younger sister, is doing good in school and graduating by next year. Time fuckin’ flies.
2. The momentous trip to the ASAP set weeks ago. Whereelse can one see legions of celebs in three hours? ASAP live rocks!
3. UP’s win in the annual cheerdance competition, with the ethnic garb to boot. Happy Centennial to UP!
4. Reunions, the cliched beso-beso and how-are yous. While 2008 saw less beach getaways for me, this year’s beaching included my elementary-grade friends’ reunion. Plus some office-related seminars, parties (Christmas parties, counted)  are the perfect time to know the people and expand one’s networking.
5. Hayden Kho and Vicky Belo’s parting. Haha. Me thinks it’s high time they separated and ended the May-December brouhaha. Come to me, Hayden!
6. I lost weight.
7. Purchases. Thank you Heavens.
8. Credit card cleanup. A couple of thousand bucks left and I am debt-free.
9. Friends, officemates, and bosses You know the cheesy lines, friends. Kiss to the moon and back, from my cholesterol-laden heart.
10. Eheads reunion concert, CD and DVD. Never mind the anticlimactic ultraelectromagnetic show that was cut short. Plus, the movies and shows like UP Samaskom’s “Isang pinggang pansit”. Haha.

Of late, I haven’t been much into the Internets, thanks to the deviltry that is the IT department who blocked all the social networking sites, even proxies, I frequent and keep my sanity at work–them Multiply, Friendster, Facebook. Can’t you give any niceties, can you?

The past weeks have been pretty loaded despite my week-long vacation leave and that thing (which shall not be revealed) that capped it all off. At least I’ve expended all the energies and prayers to it and I’ll let the good Lord to do his take on it.

Looking back, well, I spent all those rest days at home with relatives and kin who went home for uncle’s passing. For three days straight I was sleepless, gaudy and wasted, nay lightweight and drugged, manning uncle’s wake with cousins while playing all sorts of card game there is. The good thing about some kin’s passing is it’s the only time when folks come home, and gossip about the good ol days while introducing never-before seen cousins and affinities. It also makes for a good excuse to be a slugabed the next day and exempts one from doing errands. Hihi.

I feel Christmas-y already despite scrimping on budgets that needed to be stretched til the Holidays and beyond. If all things go as planned, nay God-willing, I would need to save up all the remaining pays and bonuses for next year.

Not to be forgotten of course, our company choir, the inCHOIRer, won second top honors at the recently concluded Hyundai Chorale Competition and we went home with 100grand. Hurrah to only six day of practice and deplorable budget.

The year that’s about to end was not exactly fruitful and jovial but God had his way all through it. i just hope He bless us more this coming year.

NB. I’ve been nine months single and happy. Yes.

Tumuntong ako sa Maskom taong 2002. Sweet sixteen. Batang punggok, mataba at may buhok na mahaba. Hindi ko inakala na papasa ako ng UP, ni hindi ko inisip na makapag-aral sa Maynila, sa UP pa. Imagine ang tuwa ng aking mga kaanak. Dagsa sila sa bahay at alam ng buong barangay. Nung panahong iyon kasi, isa palang na taga-baryo namin ang alam kong nakapag-UP. Pangalawa ata ako. O ha.

Sikat din sa amin kung sa Maynila ka nag-aaral. Sa Maynila ka nag-aaral kung: 1. may pera ka, o 2. kung iskolar ka. Pero sabi ko nga, swabe na kung sa bukid laang ako, doon makatapos, magkatrabaho at tumanda. Pero astig si Papa God e. Aylabyu!

Sa apat na taon ko sa eskwela, sa Maskom ako namalagi. Maganda doon, panalo. Maliit laang ang mundo namin, lahat kakilala mo. Alam mo kung sino-sino ang bading, alam mo kung sino ang kaututang-dila nya at nito. Alam mo kung sino ang may wheels at kung sino ang nakiki-hitch lang. Maingay, makulay at masigla ang buhay Maskom.

Kilala mo si Ate Raquel ng Journ, si Ate Luming ng Admin window, ultimo mga Ate at Kuya ng bawat department. Pati sila Ate Xerox sa kanto ng Tambayan Extension at library, friendly-friend mo.

Sa paaralan kung saan lahat matatalino, magaling magsalita at magsulat, naniwala akong isa lamang akong ordinaryong tao sa pugad ng Maskom. Nakupo, lahat talaga ay magagaling, pramis. Cultured ang mga tao. Iba-iba ang background ng mga nakilala ko. May galing Batanes, Surigao, Tuguegarao, Pangasinan, Butuan at Saudi. May mga anak ng pulitiko, artista, celebrity, doktor at abogado. May mga lamang-lupa din tulad ko.

Ang sangkaguruan ay hindi rin matatawaran. Naging tagapakinig ako ni Luis Teodoro, Yvonne Chua, Luz Rimban at Desiree Carlos. Sayang hindi ko na-enlist si Pete Lacaba. Sa Film andun si Boots Anson Roa, Malou de Guzman aka Dugong at Direk Maryo J.

Nakakamiss ang turon ng Gloria’s canteen at crepes ng Music cafe. Pati ang pagtambay sa batibot, Skywalk at under the skywalk. Ang tuya at sigaw sa mga kaawa-awang aplikante ng Samaskom at BroadAss ay nakakamiss na rin.

Nakilala ko sa dun ang aking mga friendly-friends, at ang org na napamahal na sa akin. Hanapin daw ang sangkabaklaan, at sa Maskom matatagpuan. Sodom at Gomorrha-wannabe ang Maskom.

Takte, wala man akong naging boyfriend sa Maskom o sa mga taong na ipinamalagi ko sa UP, orgasmic naman ang feeling na taga-Maskom ako. Talo pa ang feeling ng nakipagthreesome.

I am a litter in multiply.

I should have been sitting at the general assembly downstairs but I am just too lazy to move my ass off.  Tere, Me-an and Rissa are having a sound sleep. Hahaha.

I still can’t decide what to do the rest of the day. I might go to UP to take pictures of the famed sunflower blooms or might just bum at home with DVDs or curl up with books.

My officemates are heading up north to get some surfing fun at La Union and I am not going. How fair is that? Haha. My workmates at the section are on leave. Bleh.

On the 8th of next month, I am attending a cousin’s wedding as an abay. I need to trim down right now else I’ll look ninong-ish. Potangena.

Last weekend, I figured in a drinking session with a gay cousin-neighbor-professor my Mom’s age. Andaming kwento, inside stories, gossips kung sino ang mga lalaking pahada sa barangay namein. Cool.
